I have always been an avid reader. Fiction, non fiction, technical and not. I have read so many positive thinking books that I could not list all the names in this review.

We gain insight, instruction, inspiration and enjoyment from reading, and if we are looking to improve our skills in any area a book is a great place to start.

As recruiters research is an integral part of life, and of course much of the research we do is through reading. We need to keep up with the latest economic news, the newest IR regulations, industry statistics and trends. We know that we can increase our ability to sell and build rapport through understanding human behaviour and ourselves.

Bourke Hedges' little book on reading not only discusses the changes that reading can make in your life; he explains how and why. Hedges takes reading to a new level and teaches how to read for lasting improvement and change.

Hedges provides an understanding of the powerful influence that reading plays in our culture and our personal lives; he explains what happens to our minds when we read, and our lives when we act upon what we read.

The chapter titled "How to Read a Book" highlights the big difference between reading a book and understanding the message in a book and Hedges teaches how to read book so that you not only get the information but understand the message more fully.

Hedges' three step reading system is simple and effective and will allow you to gain more from your reading than you currently are.

As recruiters we have a lot of varied material to read on a daily basis. Taking some time out to read this "little" book will make a big difference to how you interpret the information, how you retain it and how you use it.

Highly recommended.
